KELVIN LIM
Born 1971, Singapore
I have been a full-time artist and photographer since 2002, commissioned for portraiture and figurative work. Despite modern photography’s immediacy and incredibly detailed rendition, I paint to satisfy an innate desire to feel.
With traditional media – without technology in the way – the hands connect directly to imagination and sight, resulting in expressions that happen from within. The final image is an emotive blend of realism and abstraction. Personally, it is a deeply intimate experience which feels both liberating and confronting.
I work with a variety of media including oil paint, watercolor, and charcoal. I believe no one needs to wear a mask to be loved.
